چکیده

Metabolomics is a technique that allows for the evaluation of entire extractable chemical profile plant, example, using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) and can be used to evaluate plant stress responses, such as those due drought. Metabolomic analysis dependent upon efficiency extraction protocol. Currently, there are two common procedures widely in metabolomic experiments, extract from tissue processed liquid nitrogen or lyophilised tissues. Here, we evaluated non-targeted metabolomics show lyophilisation stabilise maize (Zea mays) metabolome, increasing throughput compared more traditional processing nitrogen. Then, applied approach explore effect drought metabolome HRMS approach. revealed differences mature having undergone three conditions imposed at critical development stages (three-leaf stage grain-fill stage); moreover, this difference was observed across types (kernel inner cob/pith). It shown under ideal conditions, biochemical make-up different. However, response dominates metabolic profile. Drought-related metabolites known other systems have been identified has potential novel drought-stress indicators our system.

Maize (Zea mays L.) Response to Nitrogen Fertilizer under Drought Stress at Vegetative and Reproductive Stages

In the sub-tropics, water and nitrogen are the most important factors limiting the grain yield of maize. The effect of nitrogen (N) rates and drought stress at different growth stages of maize were investigated. Nitrogen treatments consisted of 100, 150, and 200  kgN.ha-1 from the urea source while water stress treatments were composed of irrigation-off since the early 10-leaf stage to emergenc...

Evaluation of oxidative stress tolerance in maize (Zea mays L.) seedlings in response to drought.

Seedlings of selected six genotypes of maize (Zea mays L.) differing in their drought sensitivity (LM5 and Parkash drought-tolerant and PMH2, JH3459, Paras and LM14 as drought-sensitive) were exposed to 72 h drought stress at two leaf stage. Alterations in their antioxidant pools combined with activities of enzymes involved in defense against oxidative stress were investigated in leaves. Activi...

Halopriming and Hydropriming Treatments to Overcome Salt and Drought Stress at Germination Stage of Corn (Zea mays L.)

To study the effects of halopriming and hydropriming in overcoming salt and drought stress in corn (Zea mays L.),two experiments were separately conducted at Shahrood University of Technology. Seed treatments consisted ofcontrol (untreated seeds), soaking in distilled water for 32 h (hydropriming), and soaking in 50 mmol solution ofCaCl2 for 16 h (halopriming). Germination and early seedling gr...

Corn Silage (Zea mays L.) Response to Zinc Foliar Spray Concentration When Grown on Sandy Soil

The objective of this study is to identify an adequate zinc (Zn) foliar spray concentration which corrects Zn deficiency without disrupting other plant mineral contents, enhances plant growth, and thereby corn silage yield when grown on sandy soil. A field experiment was conducted using five Zn foliar spray concentrations (w/v): 0.03%, 0.07%, 0.10%, 0.14% and 0.18%. Zn sulfate (ZnSO4. 7H2O) was...

Differential antioxidative response of tolerant and sensitive maize (Zea mays L.) genotypes to drought stress at reproductive stage.

The role of oxidative stress management was evaluated in two maize (Zea mays L.) genotypes - Parkash (drought-resistant) and Paras (drought-sensitive), subjected to drought stress during reproductive stage. Alterations in their antioxidant pools - glutathione (GSH) and ascorbic acid (AsA) combined with activities of enzymes glutathione reductase (GR), ascorbate peroxidase (APX), peroxidase (POX...
